South Florida has never had very much room to breath. Walled in by the ocean to the East and The Everglades to the West, South Florida has been struggling to expand it's living quarters for a little over 100 years. The confined space has lead to an urban sprawl through three counties that is no more than 30 miles wide at it's widest... with 20 million people crammed inside.
The Invictus have carved a safe haven for common meeting grounds in Fort Lauderdale. They have opened Elysiums to all who wish to meet safely there... but not everyone trusts the Invictus. The Circle of the Crone has a powerful ally who has carved out his own safe haven... but almost no one trusts the Circle of the Crone. The rest of the Undead struggle to make their own place in the sea of humanity that washes over South Florida; several have already drowned in the struggle to find their own piece of land.
It sounds like a good, if not the perfect place, for the undead to prey on the population; to grab for power; to feed on the confinment; to control the blood that flows through the melting pot. However, nothing is perfect. Something is amis, something has gone wrong.
Things unexplainable to the vampires who have looked up from the Dance of Death have begun to flow from the ground. Like a flood rising out of the canals and swamps, the supernatural has begun to flow in the streets. And some of the Vampires have noticed that they are the targets of some of the strange new oddities.
The elders, who claim legacy in the area and warn of an evil festering in the swamps of the Everglades, seem to remember this chaos in the recesses of their torpor addled minds. The don't remember why it stopped. And no one has pieced together why it has started again.
Play in this Venue will consist of some of the Oddest moments you will have in play. The horror in the shadows of the new world of darkness will be activly trying to pull you into it in my games.
Players are encouraged to seek reasonings for the chaos spreading... to try and stop the monsters in the world that might just be worse than they are. They are encouraged to try and capitalize on it as well. Their actions will shape the course of the game and affect how South Florida's strange happenings affect their undead lives. If they chose to continue their Danse Macabre, however, the politiking in the area is prime for exploration.
Personal horror and a sense of and over-arching storm of weird will highlight the struggle to survive in a harsh, unfriendly, cramped megalopolis. Expect odd things to happen here (the rest of the country already believed that Florida is odd... I'm here to prove it).
All characters will be considered for play. There are no ST driven plots that exclude any particular clan or covenant, but players should always check with IC characters about the political situation before diving in...
If your character is odd and needs explanation OR has any High, Top, or Master level approvals on it, please contact me ahead of time so that you are not trying to defend yourself at check-in.
Straight from the Cam Policy.
Please contact me ahead of time if you plan on traveling to our game through the Everglades. Local characters know the locations of elysiums and safe places and can arrange for IC travel if you'd like to be safer.
Any method can be used for challanges as long as the two parties involved agree on the method. The ST's will have "official" cards for use in the game at the request of the players, but will be using the hand system for challenges in most circumstances unless otherwise asked.

South Florida has a long and sorted history of Locals Versus outsiders. Invaders and death. It's people are also at constant struggle with nature... combined, with the population growing to the point where there is no more land to build on that isn't part of a national reserve, and you can get a feel for the hoplessness and struggle that pervades the human populace.
Some vampires try to capitolize on it by instituting order, others harness the chaos in the diverse population and overcrowding. All of them can tell something is wrong here and that it's not getting any better.
The storyteller focus is on heightening this sense of oddity, darkness, and horror. The struggles, plots, and NPCs will be designed to push buttons and evoke a reaction. There is nothing set in stone in this sea of weird.
Monsters, undead, nosy mortals, the unspoken threat in the Everglades, the chaos of the area, each other. Not necessarily in that order.
Sometimes, antagonists can be your friend.
I like story. I like it more than anything else about the game. If there isn't a good story or reason for something, I will very likely tell you no.
I don't like things blowing up.
I also don't like cheese. Yes, the rules may allow it, but that doesn't mean you should exploit it.
After the start of play, any character entering play will not provide amaranth benefits for 2 months of game play. This rule is intended to prevent characters from drawing characters for the explicit purpose of upping BP. If a diablarie is performed on a character less than 2 months old (which started AFTER the beginning of the chronicle) all of the negatives apply, but the gaining of a BP and the learning of the disciplines just don't take.
Diablarie is not fun or funny... horrible things happen to Vampires who forget this.
The following is required for a character to be approved for play:
| Venue Play Style | |
|---|---|
| Intrigue: | 5 |
| Action: | 4 |
| Mystery: | 4 |
| Drama: | 5 |
| Darkness: | 6 |
